towards 2019

2018

Well..

There were days where I had many reasons to rejoice..
There were days where I wished I just leave everything I am doing..
There were days where I am thankful for everything..
There were days where I wished that I don’t need to wakeup..
There were days where I am happy and proud with what I achieve..
There were days where there were many regrets..

If you are like me - who have survived 2018 - congrats!! Another year is coming, I believe what we went through can only make us better. At the end of the day, there are many reasons to celebrate in life, even in the midst of struggles.

Recently, a wise man said struggling is nature’s way to strengthen us. Perhaps there is some wisdom there.

Throughout 2018, there's a lot of lessons from feedback and comments received about my sharing and music. I really want to thank all of you for your honesty. One of the many reasons I am looking forward to 2019 is that there's plenty more of things to share - stories, lessons, music and life itself.

While there are plenty reasons to look forward in 2019, I am just stepping towards it with hope that God will guide me through it.

Thank you to everyone out there for making 2018 memorable and being a blessing to me. I do sincerely apologies for any shortcomings in me.

Cheers and forwards to the new sun.

thank you to FCC

Since it was final weekend service of 2018, I just want to say thank you everyone in faithfully serving in this service. Your heart has always been a blessing to me.

I know over the years, there's ups & downs in the services where there were many circumstances which we were able to celebrate together while also, there were circumstances that made us learn and improve. Looking onwards, we learn by trusting God in every season as He will lead us.

I also would wanna thank those who attend and serves on Sunday English. Your faithfulness and presence always keeps me (and i believe everyone else too) going. So much to learn from one another but I always enjoy the family vibes.

Thank you and looking forward to awesome 2019 with all of you.

Btw, truly blessed by the testimonies and the heart of worship over the weekend. It encourages me that everything we do is worth it. Cheers.

Merry Christmas!

Just as the 🌟 points the wise men to Jesus, my prayer is that His love will guide you through life.

In the world that is full of struggles, may His peace surrounds us because He has come to be with us.

Merry Christmas 🎄

That wraps up the gig train for 2018. 2019 is gonna be a blast so I can’t wait to share more music to the world.

Noel (a Rhema Radio cover)

BOOM!!

Here is another recording project I was involved in this year.

If you need a song to get you through your Monday blues and sets your mood for Christmas, this song is for you. Truly for you!!

A Christmas tune with the folks of Rhema Radio, which brought at least 14 churches together for this epic song - talents that ranges from singing to dance to video editing and even, painting.
It's a huge honour and privilege to part of something awesome like this, to reflect the unity in Christ while representing FCC. Personally, I feel blessed to be part of this - catching up with friends (like Joe, Jason Ding, Alex Martin and Alex the painter) while making new friends. Even recording this song and the video was a wonderful experience.

So.... you know the drill..... watch it, ENJOY it, SHARE it (as much as you can!)

Blessed Christmas and let's make 2019 epic as well!

2nd anniversary

Over the years, marriage always reminds me about God’s love for humans. Maybe the world have diluted the meaning of marriage and people can say whatever they think about it but to me, it’s just a straightforward message - He still love us no matter how screw up we are. In His love, we learn how to love others (whether your loved ones, friends or strangers) despite the shortcomings we all have.

When you are in a relationship or married, i am sure you will slowly understand what I mean.

How time flies. Just like that, we are into our second anniversary.

Sometimes it feels it’s more than two years, sometimes it feels as though our wedding was yesterday. Well, maybe love makes us forget about time.

This year is slightly difficult to have an elaborate celebration because so many things happening around us. I guess we have everyday and a lifetime ahead to celebrate. In fact, everyday with each other is a celebration itself.

My wife is amazing for being patience with my emotions, stresses and puns. Thank you for loving me and supporting me in everything. There’s a lot ahead for us and I am sure we can make it through together.

Love you Audrey Chan

day 302 of 2018

I spend my whole night yesterday in discussing with some key leaders about how we can go forward. I went home that night, trying to digest so many things.

Even though MU won their match, I couldn’t sleep well. Not because MU had a nervy ending to their match, but my mind keep digesting and thinking about the environment I am in.

When the word “church” mentioned, I know it’s a wide scope. Sometimes I think about particularly FCC. Sometimes I think about the bigger body that is called “church” (no matter which domination or place.)

All in all, all these reminded that leading/being involved in church is never an easy job. Sometimes I wondered why I am in this position. Personally, no matter what you think what a pastor should do, I can only do as much as my human limitation allows me to do.

However, once many are involved, I think it's where you able to see what the Scriptures mean by "there's power in unity", and also see how God is moving.

I am reminded constantly that while times and people change, the Gospel doesn't. The challenge now is how we make the Gospel relevant.

So I am grateful there's people who willing to do this together. That makes the task/job not so burdensome. With that, we will bring this church forward as much as we can, and with God's leading.

Apes together strong.

“SPEAK FAITH”

It’s one of the points that Bishop Melter shared last weekend and it really hit me hard. Maybe because I heard his sermon twice on Sunday (in two different language) so it make sense a bit more but what he shared on BM service is something I wished everyone heard. Really.

Actually, I wanted to share this thought few days ago but a lot of things in mind I am battling with. At some point, I feel like giving up where that sentence above seems to be so hard to even utter.
The oxymoron thing is about life is sometimes when you totally want to give up, is the time you feel you should practice faith even more.

“Speak faith” is not an excuse to brush away problems or expecting rainbows and unicorns all the way but learning to practice faith in God, knowing everything will eventually be alright, somehow someday, maybe in a month, a year, a decade. I don’t know exactly about what’s going to happen in future but God has His timing. Meanwhile, we’ll prepare our hearts to receive and facilitate that breakthrough.

FB memories reminded me something happened few years ago and I asked myself and God, “man, how that happened?” Only God can do it. And I believe He will do it again. Somehow someday.

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.

day 287 of 2018

I am not sure where is the best platform to share because often, some people misinterpret messages but then again, we all have that tendency..

But I just want to appreciate those who have heard me share & allow me to bare my heart - like my wife, leaders and friends who are in FCC/outside FCC.. thank you for listening to my emotional rants, feedback, encouragement & prayers. Sharing it sometimes feel like a weight is off the shoulder so I am sorry if I got carried away by those rants or burdens.

But really, to have a place to share or to be with people who are open is really helpful. Without you all, i think i would have given up long ago.

I’ve spend a lot of time evaluating myself and things around me and believe me when I said that I tried to make sense of everything. I still doing so.

I don’t know if there’s any solution or not, but I know God is with us. While I was pondering on this and praying about it last night, I read an article about striving on for God. In fact, it says "when God places a dream or vision inside your heart, fight for it." Maybe, just maybe, it’s like He is speaking to me through it.

The thing is, I don't just fight for myself, but for people I know and yet to know.. more importantly, for His kingdom. If some doesn't understand it, then I guess that's what it means by taking up my Cross.

Still praying. Still seeking. Still striving. Still pushing. Till He tells me, time to move on.

Where I am getting at is this :-
1) No matter which field or which part of your life you are, or what you believe in, please share your thoughts to someone or a team you trust. Reach out to someone. It helps.
2) No matter what you believe in, prayer helps you make sense of life.
3) Everyone has their own journey. Whether you acknowledge it or not, it's your call.
4) for everything else, read this : https://www.facebook.com/LaurenMariePrill/posts/10155358077865825

We will be strong. Like I said at the beginning of the year, apes together strong.

Please go and listen to this song. Thank me later https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH6IBef79HA

Cheers.

praiseunited2.0

Lionhearts indeed.

What a wonderful night, together with these champs. Thank you South and The Lowlands for the heartfelt music and the wonderful sharing Ps Sebastian. Looking forward to more moments like this with you all in future

To those who made this night possible by serving in every ways, thank you so much for your heart. To those who came, thank you as well and hope you are blessed, just as much I did personally.

A lot of things just fall into place nicely, a testimony that God always takes care of those who trust Him, because prior to today, I wrestle with a lot of personal thoughts. Anyway, whatever happens in the future, should you have feedback, testimonies and thoughts about just now, just DM/PM. It would be helpful, seriously.

And oh, hope you all like the new song i debuted just now. I actually wrote it when i was still in Sabah few years ago, just that I didn’t have the chance to share it. I guess it’s God’s timing that i am able to do it this year, with the help of timlimproject band who made it sound superb. Credit to them.

Anyway, like I said in my previous status, 29th September has plenty of reasons to give thanks for. Cheers to God and all of you who make it all possible.

Just so you know too, I am still a MU fan.

Once again, cheers to all for making this year’s #fccpraiseunited awesome!

29th September

Apparently, today is baptism day, according to my mum (when I asked her many years ago). I was 3 months old that time when it happened. I am not sure what's ahead in my life but i hope it'll be worthwhile in God's eyes.

Also, it's my dad's birthday today. Not sure if it's all planned or co-incidence but there's many reasons to give thanks then!

Also also, today is my English service warden's birthday. Maybe first song for tonight is birthday song for you la. lolz.

Anyway, like I said, perhaps there's many reasons to give thanks for today. I hope there are many reasons more to come.
