Deepavali visit..

You know what…this subject I taking for this sem..Broadcasting Journalism reminds me so much of my days during my industrial training. Lotsa work, lotsa traveling. But the good thing about it is going out to places and get to see lotsa things.

I know these days some outing means doing assignment. Pity but true. Haha.

My group wants to record the scenes and atmosphere of Deepavali. So we went Brickfields, dubbed Little India in Malaysia. It’s a crazy thing we did..I was carrying a handy cam while my friend brought her laptop to do voice recording. Imagine carrying laptop with a mic around Brickfields with a lot of people around..crazy rite? Haha. Crazy things you do for assignment.

And some people thought we are really like some TV channel crew but actually the truth is we are some amatuers who are doing assignment there. haha.

Yupzz..we are there to capture the Deepavali spirit there. It was a good experience actually to be there to see by yourself.

Sorry I didn’t take my photo camera coz I already holding so many things. But the atmosphere..well..is something you only can get it in Malaysia. Lights..the crowd.

We stayed back to witness the countdown and boy, they let go a lot of fireworks and firecrackers. Captured them on my friends’ handy cam…and yea, sorry I cant show it here now coz the footage is with my friend. And if i show it here, the news/story is overdue rite..

There was a funny moment was when my group was doing assignment, someone shouted and waving at one of my group member. At first glance, that person seems familiar, turn out it was Daphne Iking and her hubby in the car. One of my group member did his industrial training in ntv7, particular in the ntv7 Breakfast show. So that explain why Daphne waving hi to us..i mean particularly him. Haha..

Next day..Deepavali day itself..my group want to record a house that celebrate Deepavali. Yea, thanks to one of my member who has the Popiah Picture connection, we visited one Indian crew member’s open house..somewhere near the outskirt of Jalan Ipoh.

So it's like lepak-visit session where you ridiculously bringing your homework along as well. Haha.

The dog in the house..it's a good dog..never bug us..

Food is good there. I enjoyed it. That's what make Malaysia so special..get to taste other culture's food

An old and rundown mini-cooper left to rot outside...

A "naked" helicopter toy..

The deepavali raiders = my assignment group + some of coursemates who did industrial training with Popiah Pictures + two current Popiah Picture crew

So..for 5 minutes, everyone put up a "show" for assignment purposes..you know..shooting scene that the host welcome us "again"..haha..

Food was good. Haha. I repeated that again. I enjoyed the Nasi Tomato.

Things like these makes you realize how blessed Malaysia is. Where in the world you can see other culture visit other culture. Honestly I love this practice we have here…visiting other cultures/races’ open house.

Truly that's what makes Malaysia special.
