Is the 50th Merdeka celebration.
Being in BERNAMA, I have seen so many news how people try to celebrate Merdeka. Building longest flag..forming a motorbike convoy to travel around the country with Msian flag..people doin skyjumping from KL tower(which i can see from my office.haha.)..building the biggest kolam..what else can we do eh..haha..
Even here in the office, last week, they had like a small Merdeka party at the carpark.
I m sure we read History. When I think back about how Malaysia got its independence from Brits 50 years ago, I m sure there were many sacrifices involved. Maybe we should ask our grandparents about it. I m sure living in those days were hard..alot of things goin on..and I m sure the leaders that time worked hard to secure a place where everyone can co-exist as one..
50 years on, sometimes when I go to work, I think we sometimes take things for granted that we are living in a harmonious country. When I take LRT to work and back, it makes me wonder you know…everyone with different backgrounds using the same LRT. When I walk around KL, I dun think anywhere in the world we can see everyone from different races able to walk around on the same street. Even in office, I get to mingle with different races. I have colleagues from Malay, Indian and even from the Bumiputras (Iban, Kadazan) . I think I should be thankful I studied in a national school where I get to mix with various races. I have friends of different race n religious background.
As I was listening to Planetshakers’ Save Australia..I make it my prayer as I change the title Australia into Malaysia..we done that before rite..matter afact..the song was written here by Mike G of PS..
50 is a big number. Not many countries can reach that figure.
I hope everyone will continue to pray for this country. I admit our country is not as perfect as we see and has its flaws..but I feel it is still important we still pray for the country.
Pray for the leaders. Pray for the freedom we have. Pray for unity to continue to exist among all races. Pray for peace. Pray that God continue to keep this country safe and sound.
Happy Merdeka to everyone.
