Yea..SPAIN..
This year's Euro, i admit, i didnt watch much. Sometimes i m tired after work and i dont want to keep draining my energy to stay up late at night to watch the matches. Moreover, I dont have my own TV set at home. Poor me. haha. I only keep in touch with results via internet or newspaper. I only watched two matches..one was the quater-final clash between Spain and Italy(which i regret staying up for..it bored me alot) and the final itself.
I would say the final was nice to watch. But then, it's my personal judgement considering that i only been watching two 'live' matches thruout the competition. haha.
Credit to Spain. Prior to the competition, they are always been pressured by the media because they cant seems to deliver on international matches despite being rich in footballing talent. Thus, they also always been tagged as the 'dark horse of football'. But they never let that tag stop them and they work hard over the years. After this win, you can say their hardwork paid off.
Personally i never underestimated the squad that Spain has. Talents like Torres, Fabregas, Ineista, Xavi, Sergio Ramos is well known to football fans. Perhaps you can say the win affirms the talent pool they have. So ya, credit to Spain for winning the Euro 2008.
Now, we will spend the next one month plus waiting for the kickoff of all the European soccer club leagues, notably like EPL, La Liga, Serie A. In between, brace yourself for the rumours of football transfer market, which predictably will soar after Euro 2008 closes. Friendly matches would also be taking place as well.
Till then, go and get enough rest folks, before sleepless nights of soccer season begins again..
