so if you ask what i did there? helper. yea..i carried the recording camera around during the event, so yea, i know how reality series works now. then i led worship sessions as well.

The main course/event of the camp is the Amazing Race. This camp represent the second time they having such event as the first one was held successfully in Cameron Highlands back in 2005. I guess after that success, there were looking forward to do another one. Some youth leaders dubbed it "perlumbaan kedua" after the BM literature book they read in secondary school..in fact, i heard they nearly name it "perlumbaan kedua" but maybe it sounded weird on the camp form. lol.

in many years of SPC EYF/better known as History Makers for the past few years, this is best camp attendance so far..broken the 100 camper mark.
some pics for viewing pleasure..

Jellyfish. yea. i saw it near the jetty. but i think it's dead and washaway. it looks like some giant wantan..doesnt it..haha..

One of the stations located at a beach called Monkey Bay and yes, they dont call it Monkey Bay for nothing..lotsa monkeys. And yes, be always on guard on your belongings. a few youths left their bags laying n the monkeys went to open it. lol..the best part was i saw a monkey stole a packet of balloons from the box of the stationmaster. the monkey thought it's food..it was funny to see the monkey bitting it n then realize it's plastic..
ahhh...ghost...no la..the youth advisor, Mr Soon Yew trying to get some sleep..
Actually i was in Pangkor with a few youth leaders a day earlier to setup the area.

the worship itself..wo..it really encountering with the one and true living God. There are certain times as i lead, you can just feel powerful presence of God..it's hard to desribe it exactly but it's so very real. and the crowd, in many years i lead worship, it was one of the craziest crowd, they just sing their lungs and hearts out. there were several moments in the worship session, you just want to step off the mic and hear the youths sing their hearts loud..it's just awesome. in short, the worship experience just blow me away.
certainly worship is indeed a glimpse of heaven.
i be honest to say there was one day in the camp i was very tension and in a bad mood. i even ask God, why i made that decision to be here..all sort of thoughts just run thru my mind that time..all i can say that they were negative. Once i gumble enough, as i walking along the pangkor roads, i begin to feel peace. From there onwards, God just really open my mind and begin to see things from different perspective.. it's like perhaps God want to prepare me for my life and want me to learn about few things..
in the camp, the youths are certainly on fire for God. They gave great testimonies thru-out the camp..and from those testimonies, you can certainly see how God really move into their life. the best of all, someone accepted Christ in the camp. amazing stuff. praise God.

the guest speaker was Pastor Elijah, the youth pastor from Church of Praise Ipoh. He is one good preacher..
besides that, i change room 2 times within 5 days in pangkor. first reason coz the room we spend our first nite was meant for the girls and was used by us temporary. the second time we change was because Pastor brought a few guest and we want to let the guest share with the Pastor..
the resort itself..well..it's apartment style..but for me as long i can sleep with air con, will do. the place is little rundown coz i went into afew apartments and see, it's like something is missing..either carpet is missing, air-con not working, toilet bowl rosak, no toilet rolls. even last day my apartment door was spoilt..lucky last day. in short, not the most glamour resort to sleep in but it look as though if you just looking for a place to sleep, this will do.
and when i watch the preparation of the camp and see how the camp was run, you gotta get credit to the leaders/organizers for doing such a camp. it's not easy for kids who averagely 16 to 19 years old planning the race itself and organize such a camp. despite many circumstances, they pull it off. Besides, i m glad to see 100 campers really enjoy the camp.
As i was travelling home, i thank God for refreshing me, reminded me of His calling and His work in me. With that, it also like preparing me for the next step in my life.
Gonna start work soon and somehow i thank God that this camp prepared me well for my "job". hehe.
somehow i feel there are greater things ahead of me but i need to be patience, stay strong, take one step at a time..
anyway, i just want to say thanks HM for this camp. I m proud of how the commitee done the camp and to worship and encounter God togther with HM is a honor. To spend some time hanging out with some of the youths is fun.
All glory and praise to Him :)
after this camp, i cant wait to go to sabah..this time for their DYC..talk about excitement.. :P
indeed i just feel exciting times is ahead...IF ONLY we submit ourselves to Him.. ;)
