Malacca Memories pt 1 : the walk in the historic city

Tuesday and Wednesday, my group assignment decided to go to Malacca to do our documentary assignment. Our documentary will be about Laksamana Cheng Ho(you might read this in yr Sejarah books) and his contribution towards the Malacca community plus more facts about him.

We left KL at 8.30am, took us around 50 to 60 mins.

This is the museum we will do mostly our research and stuff. Will blog more about it later in part 2..took lotsa pics in there. So it's an honor that i given the privilage to take pics in the museum like mad coz some museum dont allow picture snapping. haha.

The famous Jonker Walk..

This is something you dont see everyday on Malaysian road..double decker..

Here's another thing you dont see everyday..mud-skipper..!!

Yea, the museum is near the heart of the historic places. Within a walk away, the famous Anglican church building, Christ Church is nearby.

The service times..

Some stalls nearby. One stall gave me a good bargain of prices for their stuff but i decline..i have no intention to buy their stuff.

There's a spot that looks like Venice..haha..

Trishaws..it's still popular tourist attraction. Just that in modern times, they are sponsored by Digi, which explains all the yellow colors and some trishaws have boombox in them..some were blasting songs like mad. lol.

actually after i took this pic, the man saw me and asked if i want a ride from him..lol..

Some roads in Malacca are small..well..it reflects back those ancient days. I would say Malacca people are nice folks on the road as well. There was a part i drove my friend's car around Malacca, it was fun. :P

We then took a walk around, trying to catch wateva footage possible and pictures.

Had a crazy walk..it's like walking around the historic piece on the planet. Tired but a great experience.

Aha..you will know this building if you got read your Sejarah books...

Another Dutch building...

..a huge one

..like walking inside a set of LOTR..haha..

It's crazy to think within few kilometres there, there are plenty of museums. This is one of them. It's called the "declartion of Independence" museum.

We finished our shooting around 4.30pm. Then we hangout around the museum then around 6pm, had an early dinner. At around 7pm, went to Dataran Malacca. Well, the girls in my group wants shopping..ok..

Around 8.30pm, we went to the famous Jonker Walk and took more footages of night scenes in Malacca.

Ate this huge curry puff that only cost me 80 cents..!

Wednesday, went to Bukit Cina to take few more shots. Then back to Jonker Walk for late breakfast/early lunch..

Malacca has lotsa food to find and eat. Within that two days, ate like 3 bowls of cendol. With hot weather, you cant blame me. Their cendol rocks especially their Gula Melaka..taste like caramel..lol..then there was one cendol i ate has durian pastry on it. Delicious..!

Besides cendol, other foods can be found in Malacca are pineapple tarts(there are everywhere i tell u..), laksa and the famous chicken ball rice. didnt get to taste that ball rice honestly..coz we ate other stuffs. haha.

Like this one i found on Tuesday nite, in a famous Pineapple Tart shop, which it seems made the biggest tart in Malaysia. Duno it is replica or not..i saw marks of people poking the super huge tart. inchy people.

We left around 1pm..along the way back, one of my friends' car experience major breakdown. After settling it, we reach KL around 3 sumthing..sending people back and etc..by the time i reach my hostel, it was 4.30pm.

Malacca trip was memorable. Though was tiring, but it was a nice experience. Thanks to my coursemate Alicia Tan, whose hometown is Malacca, i think having a good tour guide really made things easier and fun.

To spend some time walking in the historic place in Malaysia indeed memorable.
