In a recent INROCK interview, Brian Littrell said the Backstreet Boys newest album will include various music styles, combining their earlier mid-90's sound with their most recent guitar driven pop/rock sound.
The Backstreet Boys have set an October 30th release for their new album 'Unbreakable' (title confirmed by Brian and AJ during an interview at 104.5 on August 13th).The final track-listing, however, has not yet been decided. The group's follow-up to 2005's Never Gone will be the first effort since the departure of longtime member Kevin Richardson last summer.JoJo from 102.7 KIIS-FM in Los Angeles posted a new ballad called "Happily Never After" on www.jojoontheradio.com on May 8th, 2007. It's available for streaming on that website. It had been hand-delivered to him by Backstreet Boys' manager, Johnny Wright, the day before. It is now expected that the song will be on an album by another artist. The chances that it will remain on this one are very slim.
"Helpless When She Smiles", a cover of Bastiaan Ragas' rock ballad, was also leaked online on May 9th. It was to be the first single (said by Brian) but when found that it was sung by another artist, was withheld.
"Any Other Way", an uptempo pop/rock song from the Backstreet Boys upcoming record was leaked to music rating sites at the end of May. The song was produced by Dan Muckula, who wrote and produced their 2005 hit single "Incomplete." It was written by Dan Muckala, Jess Cates, and Lindy Robbins.
On July 25th, the first single was confirmed as "Inconsolable," a piano driven power ballad similar to Never Gone's "Incomplete." It will be released to radio on August 27th. Inconsolable was written and produced by Emanuel Kiriakou (Nick Lachey "What's Left Of Me", Katherine McPhee "Ordinary World"), and co-written by Lindy Robbins and Jess Cates. It was premiered on August 6 by Jive at Z-100, New York's Hit Music Station. Full clips of the song may now be found on the internet.
On August 13th, Brian and AJ had confirmed that the album title is "Unbreakable". Before this announcement, rumored titles were "End To Beginning," "Motivation," and "Picking Up The Pieces"

BSB was one of the reason I got inspired into music when I was a young naïve n innocent boy. And it was the time where boy-bands were at their peak…and kinda ridiculous to think that time all sort of boy bands appear.
Those were the days when people mocked their dance moves. haha. I always remember I tried to mock their chair-dancing moves as shown in "as long as you love me" music video. haha.
Times passes and changes. People who use to be crazy over them has grown. Many bands have disband. Yet BSB survived all that. And now, I thought their music sound mature compare their first few album. As the industry changes, you gotta understand the reason why some artist also change.
Yup, I grew up with BSB music and I m excited about the news. I actually love "Never Gone" album which suppose to be the new BSB music and now with a follow-up album to it certainly gonna be interesting to hear.
The album is called Unbreakable. Cool title..better than other titles mention above. Haha.
Remind me of Westlife who had this similiar title to their greatest hits album.
And I realize something funny. Inconsolable is the first single. And hey, Incomplete was Never Gone’s first single. Anymore IN-words can they get. INteresting?
Is gonna be interesting to hear how 4 piece BSB work tis time after Kevin left to pursue stage acting. I read another rumour that Kevin could return to work with BSB for the next album. Another rumour I heard AJ and Howie D could come out with solo albums as well. Besides, I m interested to see how Brian handle the BSB spotlight now after his hugely successful solo career as a Christian artist.
Alrite..this is where u can go if u are impatient about listehing to their the first single..from BSB's Fansite.
Again..Backstreet’s back,alright.
