The question these days we often asked.. "how are you coping in this MCO days?"
To be honest, there were days I am alright and there were days I find my battling my self-demons of insecurities and doubts.
Truth to be told, I find it hard to express that latter part. But thankfully, there are things have kept me occupied and sane. Chance to catch-up on TV series and readings, writing songs and let my creative brain going and an amazing and wonderful wife to co-manage the house - all these made me grateful while not taking it for granted.
Oh yes, internet too. Can you imagine your life without internet during MCO? Yup, don't take that for granted.
While being at home helped me to gather my thoughts, part of me can't wait to be back out BUT then, it won't be the same like pre-MCO. Maybe some of us like me thought we were "well-prepared" for MCO, but as days goes by, we realize there are some things we were not well prepared to face, in terms of mentally and emotionally. It's overwhelming all to say once all hits you.
I learnt to appreciate little things in life like the food I eat, the places I go, the people I meet. I also learnt to be grateful with the opportunity to do what I can do during this MCO period despite shortcomings and things that I can received as well.
Time being, I guess we have to wrestle with the thoughts of hope and insecurities. Just be who you are.. don't compare yourself with others. Don't compare how your church stream is different than that church stream. Don't compare whether your friend is more effective or fruitful than you. Don't compare what this person is going through to the next person. There's more than we know, always.
I hope and pray somehow somewhat this MCO period have allow us space and time to grow, in terms of spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
"Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being
renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving
for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes
not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, for what is seen is
temporary, but what is unseen is eternal,” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
Cheers
