day 196 of 2019

Just want to share some of my personal reflection of the "parable of Good Samaritan" sermon (in reference to Luke 10:25-37 NIV)

Well, part of me have just utter what's in my mind partly because I've been listening of this sermon more than once within the space of 4 days, though all in different context & presentation. One in SPTC and in all the FCC services.

To be honest, if the question is whether you can love God and love His people "perfectly", I would bravely say it's so hard. Especially, the people part because people are imperfect. You gotta be kidding me if you tell me that you can tolerate every s#*t that is being thrown at you. Honestly, even as a pastor, I find this very difficult, what more if anyone else.

However, we can only love them as God sees them - imperfect people (even ourselves) being loved by a perfect God

When the teacher of the law (in that conversation with Jesus) really wants to push it by asking "who's my neighbour?", it shows how arrogant we can be sometimes especially in trying to justify ourselves in terms of how we live our life.

Back to essence of it, I can only pray God will strengthen us and grant us grace to love & care for others, because first place, He love us when we are "hurt".

Only comfort is learning how Jesus is able to tolerate with all kinds of people everyday.
