Well, arguably this year is like a “redemption” year for some franchise movies. Sony reaping fruits from Venom and Spiderman cartoon movie. Aquaman is a step forward for DCEU. Now, Bumblebee is in that category.
It’s Transformers movie that people longed for. All the G1 references, hits the nostalgic side of me. Especially the first scene of Cybertron.
One of the key thing that made this movie much better than Michael Bay-led movies is the fact that the movie is much organic and grounded on emotions and storyline, rather than crazy boom and unnecessary stunts.
Hailee Steinfeld is excellent in this.
To be honest, when they first announce the movie, I had my doubts but the movie proved me wrong by doing really well. Yup, redemption indeed.
