Venom is basically a movie for Spiderman (or comic book) fans like me. I can relate to all the split opinions online between movie critics/reviews and fans. It wasn't a bad movie that what movie reviews said. Well, that's the problem when these people have crazy benchmark for comic movies.
While I do found some plot holes (some obvious ones) and I do feel there are some parts that they could have done it better, my biggest takeaway from the movie is that Tom Hardy's Venom's outing is much better Topher Grace's underwhelming Venom (in Spiderman 3).. so for that, I am glad.
Meanwhile, this does establish the fact that there's a multi Spider-verse (personal theory), which you can find those references in 2 post credit scenes. Yup, it's the typical Marvel thing to do (despite different Marvel studio, non-MCU) and also, yes, a certain cameo.
