#TL2018moviewatch : Solo

Here comes another tale from the Star Wars universe.

Prior to its release, there are many tales about its challenges in every stages of the production. Personally, I do find the promotion little underwhelming compare to the other Star Wars-related movies.

I know since Disney bought over, there's potential to explore deeper and more into the Star Wars anthology. This is where we land at this movie - Solo.

Alright, Solo arguably one of the famous character from the original trilogy but it's arguable as well that whether its character is warrant its own origin movie. Mmm, personally, I think if it's TV series, maybe could work. Movie? Big risky move.

So much high expectation on it that by Star Wars standard, it's not what the exec expects. I mean come on, they should have know the risk, isn't it? Moreover, it's placed after Avengers and Deadpool, some people might find it tiring while some doesn't (like me, i am having fun).

But let's jump into the movie review ok? Sorry for being long-winded....

While the performances from the actors were great, the movie somehow suffering from slow pace storytelling, making it draggy at some scenes.

My few bright spots are the special effects are amazing, some interesting characters and the nods to the bigger Star Wars universe. Knowing how everything come together (like how he met Chewbacca, how he become at odd with Lando) perhaps gives Star Wars fan some satisfaction about why he is what he is. Meanwhile, watchout for a cameo from a classic character... i was like ... wow..

Fair to say, it's more like a space-cowboy-kind of movie instead of sci-fi craziness. Spoiler alert : no lightsaber.. duh...

RATING : 7.5/10

*Sorry for late review. Was busy with Ignite prep.
