the light from Black Lightning

Usually I don't really give half-a-season kind of reviews but I just wanna share my thoughts on the latest CW entry which is #BlackLightning

To be honest, I enjoyed the series so far. Not too heavy as Arrow or too emotional as Flash. While there's meta-powers to deal with, the series is still grounded on family oriented stuff and dealing with life issues.

You may say it's a cultural thing (like Black Panther or Luke Cage-kind of vibe) but personally, that is not an issue for me because I just enjoy the story as it is. Perhaps it's just me, I enjoyed watching different backgrounds and setting. 

At some point it got slightly draggy and sometimes I am a bit annoyed with the overused of hip-hop music at the background to match with its cultural setting, so I hope that they can balance that out a bit.

I would love #BlackLightning to meet the other CW heroes someday but at this point, the series by itself is quite impressive n doesn't need to ride on its CW hero-siblings. so ya, kinda understand that the producer wouldn't confirm which universe the story take place in.

Meanwhile, let's see how this series goes. CW recently renewed their whole superheroes lineup, so there's a guarantee of 2nd season already.
