M.A.S.K-ing thoughts

Recently, I managed to finish re-watching my favourite childhood show -- M.A.S.K!!

Anyone out there remember them???

Even at my age, I feel accomplished(and can die peacefully..hahaha) to know that I finished watching the show properly and fully. Perhaps when it was shown in Malaysia that time, they didn't finish airing it.

You can read more about them at Wiki.

Okay, for lazy clickers, it's basically about a secret task force called M.A.S.K who protects the world of a group of troublemakers/terrorist V.E.N.O.M

This show came out during the high times of cartoons in the late 80s when Transformers, He-Man, Thundercats were cool.

When I was young, I am always awe-struck while watching this show -- seeing cars turn into different modes. Yes, that is always the highlight of the show, like their selling point...

Besides, I used to have their toys and I loved playing with them. Now I regret not keeping or playing the toys nicely.... I think some of the vehicles are damaged..like the doors broken, tyres missing.

I now wondered if they are still stored somewhere in my Ipoh house for my parents to take out for visiting kids to play...

Man, looking at that picture brings many memories of me playing with it when I was young =(

My thoughts after watching the series -- the series sometimes don't have a solid storyline but i think the focus is always about their cool vehicles and mask. Well, sometimes most 80s cartoons doesn't have solid storyline, don't they? Almost all the episode has similiar story -- some irregular activities by V.E.N.O.M like stealing treasures will bring M.A.S.K together to take action.

Honestly, it was a bit of a struggle and grueling to watch the series at one go. I watched one by one or whenever I free because sometimes the story can be draggy..

But again, like I said, the selling point of this series is the vehicles and the mask which would hit the young boys' mind. Yup, every boys would love to fantasied riding Thunderhawk or any M.A.S.K vehicle...

It's no secret that this series actually has the potential to be remake or adopt into movie (like Transformers or Speed Racer). So far, no one has step up to take up the challenge although there's few rumours going around some might want to try.

Yes, if I am a Hollywood director or producer like Spielberg, I would have taken it...

Nevertheless, glad to finish the series and to relive another childhood show...
