Shout to the Lord/Psalms 96

My Jesus, My Savior,
Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days I want to praise
the wonders of Your mighty love.

My comfort, my shelter,
Tower of refuge and strength;
let every breath, all that I am
never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You

I actually led this song on Sunday morning. Somewhat when i was choosing songs for Sunday, God inspired me to choose this song. Of course, various artists have sung this song over the years..from Michael W.Smith to Chris Tomlin to even last year's American Idol finalists.

This song was composed by Darlene Zschech , the famous Hillsong worship leader. I was reading the background of this song..on how she composed this song.

At first when she composed this song, she wasnt sure it will sound good. In fact, she was going through some low times in her life that time. She wondered if God can use her for anything. However she read Psalms 96 which inspired her to compose this song.

Reading that, somehow I relate to what she felt that time. But reading Psalms 96 makes me realized what a big God we have. Many times I think we forgot who is bigger...circumstances or God..and sometimes we want to take the matters in our hands. Play 'God' in fact. It's time to let God be God.

The chorus is well written...it says it all about God. I m learning day by day to draw strength from God.
