all about You

Next week, it's going to be an important period in the Christian calendar..

Come this weekend is the Palm Sunday. Thursday will mark the Maundy Thursday and Friday will be the good Friday. 12th April marks Easter day.

What's interesting for me this year is how FCC this year approach Easter. Over the years, whenever Easter comes, it has this tendency of being a good opportunity for Christians to invite non-Christians to church or become a celebration-like event. It's not wrong actually...even today, i been looking through some of my friends' church's Easter celebrations promos and invites..doing dramas and etc. Even over the years, i myself have been involved in such stuff. But what is different this year is approaching Easter like approaching a sad moment.

That explains why the Good friday night service in FCC is not really heavily promoted as though it's like an evagelistic meeting, but hey, everyone can still come. Check the website for more details then.
What we will be doing is that we are trying to capture the experience and the journey of Jesus Christ to the cross..yes..we will be following closely to what is written in the Bible but well..it's like watching Passion of the Christ on stage.
Production-wise, i have been observing the practices and i can leak out that it's really a drama like you never seen before. The people been practicing hard and i m excited to see how the drama will turnout to be. I guess we are proud to say even the music score we self-composed!
So ya, basically bringing out the feeling and meaning of Easter is really crucial and it's gonna be an eye-opener to experience Good Friday in that manner.

I have been given the responsibity to choose songs for Maudy Thursday, Good Friday services and Easter itself and i can share with you, choosing those Easter-theme songs is not easy but it's really an eye-opener experience. If i were to translate what i feeling to you in a lay-man's word, it's like i m choosing sad songs or heartbreak songs to sing instead of rocking and happy songs. Honestly, i actually loving this experience..and i cant wait to be leading those songs next week..

It's not so much about event, music, etc etc..it's all about Jesus and the love that He gave.

As we heading towards Easter, let us prepare our hearts to be transformed and empowered by His love that He gave to us.
