Within this past few days, I watched two movies currently playing in cinema..

First-up, Dr Seuss’ Horton hears a-Who. All I can say is since you are going to watch a cartoon, just don’t have any expectation and you will find yourself, somehow, will enjoy it. Personally, I enjoyed it. Enjoyable cartoon all to say. As for the script, I was fascinated by Dr Seuss’ literature and words that were use in certain scenes…how it uses rhymes to tell a story. Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell (the pair are re-united again after working together in Bruce Almighty) did well in their voice-over.
Another thing that fascinated me how kids movie have evolved these days. Hand-draw animation (think Disney-type movie) are like yesterday’s news and most of kids’ movie are CG-animated. The animation here was good I would say.
I said two elephants uh..another elephant..well..literally it is..from another movie i watch.. 10,000 BC.

Watching 10,000 BC, to me, is like watching Troy or 300. Heck, even certain scenes remind me of both of the movies. Though the plot for me is normal or nothing to shout about. I think what the movie is trying to sell is the special effects. I like how they animated the mammoth. Is like they really caught a few mammoth and let it run there. lol. Seriously it helps to think, what if mammoth is still around. lol. Was disappointed that the sabretooth tiger appear awhile.
I actually dig the idea for having a story that has prehistoric settings but the plot could have been better. The movie didn’t really convince me that it is really 10,000 BC…too ficitional..if it really based on perhistoric background, i guess the research done for this movie is bad..lotsa inaccurancy.
first elephant movie : i give 3/5.
second elephant movie : i give 3/5 .. that largely thanks to the special effects..
So there, tails..i mean tales of two elephants..
= = = = = = =
